Cityscapes

Cityscapes are a favorite subject matter for me because I have spent the last 30+ years working in the downtown financial core in Toronto, Canada’s largest city. I add layers using a series of more than a dozen lino-cuts that I’ve created that depict architecture.

This detailed photo shows the detail and layers of the work above. Reference the building in the top left corner. Print is used to depict a row of windows in the building to the left. Pencil is added to add detail. There are a minimum of 5 lino cut designs in just this small area. Paint is applied throughout the process with a brush, roller, spray and using my favorite tool, the can of spray paint!
